Meghan Markle will not attend the funeral of Prince Philip on Saturday, it has been confirmed.
The Duke of Edinburgh passed away on Friday morning at the age of 99, having suffered from numerous medical problems over the last few years.
Philip's grandson Prince Harry and wife Meghan have been based in California for the last year after stepping down as senior members of the Royal Family - and they ruffled feathers last month when they gave a tell-all TV interview to Oprah Winfrey.
The couple are expecting their second child in a few months' time and as a result, Meghan has been advised not to fly over to the UK to attend the funeral for health reasons.
A Buckingham Palace spokesperson said: "The Duke of Sussex is planning to attend. The Duchess of Sussex has been advised by her physician not to travel. So the Duke will be attending."
Due to coronavirus restrictions, Philip's funeral will be attended by just 30 people, although the service will be televised.
