Kylie, Boris Becker 'wanted for Strictly, I'm A Celebrity'

Strictly Come Dancing and I'm A Celebrity, Get Me Out Of Here are said to be going head to head for top stars such as Kylie Minogue and Boris Becker.

Strictly Come Dancing and I'm A Celebrity, Get Me Out Of Here are reportedly going head to head for many of the same top stars this year.

The BBC ballroom contest is said to be on track to go ahead in September despite the coronavirus pandemic, with a report yesterday claiming that the show has managed to attract higher-calibre celebrities than usual because of the lockdown.

The status of I'm A Celebrity - normally filmed in Australia in November - is less clear, with travel restrictions likely to run until later in the year.

According to The Sun, that has not deterred ITV from trying to rival the BBC for big names including pop princess Kylie Minogue, former tennis player Boris Becker and Louis Tomlinson's social media star sister Lottie.

"Money is no object and both shows have had low rent signings in the last year. This is their chance to flex their purse strings and snap up viewers," a source told the newspaper.

"Big name celebs have been inundated with offers and while Strictly is seen as the slightly more high-brow show the jungle is less work time-wise and less likely to destroy your marriage."

Becker is said to have previously turned down I'm A Celebrity because they refused to meet his £500,000 fee.
