Stephanie Waring returning to Hollyoaks in 2026 / Lime Pictures
Stephanie Waring is returning to Hollyoaks some 30 years on from her debut as Cindy Cunningham.
The character, who made her debut in November 1996, was last seen fleeing the village in 2024 for Spain to escape her murderous boyfriend Dave, aka Blue.
The reason for Cindy’s return to Hollyoaks is unknown, although – in the show’s timeline – it has now been almost three years since Dave was murdered.
“I would never pass up the chance to walk in Cindy’s heels again,” said Waring. “It feels amazing to be back home.”
Waring’s first scenes, which will see her appear alongside Ashley Taylor Dawson (Darren), Nick Pickard (Tony), Rebecca Ryan (Beth) and Matthew Wolfenden (Jonah), will be seen in the episode released on Wednesday, July 15.
