Three former Hollyoaks stars are reportedly returning to the show for its upcoming 30th anniversary celebrations.
The soap reaches the milestone birthday on October 23 – and to mark the occasion, a number of special events are planned, including some “explosive” scenes, the return of late-night spinoff Hollyoaks Later and a crossover with predecessor soap Brookside.
According to The Sun, three popular former characters will also be back for guest stints – Rory ‘Finn’ Finnigan (James Redmond), Carol Groves (Natalie Casey) and Dom Reilly (John Pickard).
The trio all have links to Tony Hutchinson – played by the soap’s only remaining original cast member, Nick Pickard – and will all be part of the anniversary storyline.
A source said: “They were all hugely popular characters in the ’90s and had to be a part of the anniversary.
“Hollyoaks might have a lot of younger viewers now but bosses really wanted to remember the ’90s roots, so there’s set to be some real nostalgia coming up.”
Filming is already believed to be underway on the anniversary episodes.
