Michael B Jordan in Sinners / Warner Bros.
Sinners has become the most nominated film in Academy Awards history with a record 16 nods.
The Ryan Coogler-helmed horror surpasses the 14 nominations previously received by All About Eve, Titanic and La La Land.
Also making history is Timothee Chalamet, who becomes the youngest person to secure three Best Actor nominations following his star turn in Marty Supreme.
Jessie Buckley is up for Best Actress, but her Hamnet co-star Paul Mescal is a shock omission for Best Supporting Actor.
Also notable by its complete absence from the nominations is Wicked For Good – including even in the music categories – despite its huge performance at the box office.
