Tom Holland has admitted that he is uncertain whether he will return to the role of Spider-Man in future movies.
The actor has played Peter Parker since the character’s introduction into the MCU and can currently be seen in Spider-Man: No Way Home, which was released this week.
The movie marks the final film in Holland’s deal with Sony and Marvel, although producer Amy Pascalrecently revealed that plans are afoot for a new Spider-Man trilogy.
Discussing his future with The Hollywood Reporter at a press junket, Holland said: “There have been conversations about the future of Spider-Man. Whether it will be with me, I’m not too sure yet. You know, maybe I’ll be a producer or something, I don’t know.
“But I do know that I love this character and I would be sad to say goodbye, but I have achieved basically everything I wanted to achieve as this character.”
He added: “So I’m ready, I’m ready to say goodbye.”
Spider-Man: No Way Home is expected to gross around $290m (£217m) worldwide in its opening weekend, despite increased concerns about the Omicron variant of coronavirus affecting cinema receipts.
