Paul Mescal as William Shakespeare in Hamnet / Focus Features
Jessie Buckley and Paul Mescal’s Hamnet returned to the top of the UK and Ireland Box Office over the weekend.
On its fourth week of release, the film took in sales of £1.41m for a gross of £14.84m to date, with The Housemaid dropping to second place with a six-week gross of £28.48m.
New Jason Statham action movie Shelter opened at three with receipts of £965k, while post-apocalyptic sci-fi flick Iron Lung was new at four with £949k.
Elsewhere, horror Primate – about a crazed chimpanzee terrorising a family on an island – pulled in £659k to debut at eight.
