Busted star James Bourne has revealed that he is undergoing major surgery in a bid to ‘extend [his] life’.
The 42-year-old – one of the trio alongside Matt Willis and Charlie Simpson – pulled out of the Busted vs McFly Tour late last year due to a mystery, but serious illness.
Bourne has now posted an update on social media – and while he has still not disclosed the nature of his condition, his language hints at its severity.
“I realised it’s been about six months since I posted last,” he wrote on Instagram.
“I have a plan in place to have major surgery that should extend my life and hopefully make me well enough to come back to what I love the most which is touring and making music.
“It really sucks to be out of the game. But there is hope!”
The Busted vs McFly Tour went ahead on Bourne’s insistence, with his younger brother Chris filling in for him on the shows.
