Norway and Manchester City striker Erling Haaland has accepted Spider-Man star Tom Holland’s offer of meeting for a dinner date.
The actor was appearing on Jimmy Fallon’s talkshow to promote new movie The Odyssey when he recalled DMing Haaland – one of the best forwards in the world – suggesting that they hang out.
“That is exactly the type of humbling experience that is important for actors,” he recalled.
‘You know, you’ll be like, ‘I’ll text him, I’ll take him to dinner’, not even a response, not an excuse, not ‘I’m busy tonight, I’m playing football’, nada.”
Holland later learned via a third party that Haaland had not replied because he does not watch movies and had no idea who he was, but now after a clip of the interview went viral, the footballer has finally responded.
Responding to Fallon’s account, Haaland wrote: “Dinner invitation accepted @tomholland2013. A little late. Just name the place!”
Holland is a huge football fan and is a club supporter of London side Tottenham Hotspur, even interviewing their former star striker Son Heung-min for the club’s website.
