Harris Yulin as Roger Stanton in 24 / FOX
Harris Yulin, known for a slew of TV roles including 24 and Ozark, has died at the age of 87 following a cardiac arrest.
The veteran actor, who played NSA director Roger Stanton in season two of 24, had a career stretching back to the early 1960s – appearing in Scarface, Bean, Ghostbusters II, Buffy, The Vampire Slayer and Frasier.
Just days before his death Yulin was due to begin filming scenes for a new MGM+ comedy series, American Classic, opposite Kevin Kline and Laura Linney.
The show’s director Michael Hoffman said: “Harris Yulin was very simply one of the greatest artists I have ever encountered. His marriage of immense technique with an always fresh sense of discovery, gave his work an immediacy and vitality and purity I’ve experienced nowhere else.
And what he was as an actor, he was as a man, the grace, the humility, the generosity. All of us at American Classic have been blessed by our experience with him. He will always remain the beating heart of our show.”
Yulin is survived by wife Kristen Lowman.
