Executives at 5 are reportedly weighing up the future of Vanessa Feltz’s daytime show just two months into its run.
The veteran daytime and radio host moved to the broadcaster in March for a new programme centred around topical discussions with viewers and celebrities.
The programme sits opposite Loose Women at 12.30pm in the schedules, following on from Jeremy Vine’s show, which goes out from 9.15am to 11.30am, and Storm Huntley and Friends, which airs from 11.30am to 12.30pm.
A source told The Sun: “The future of Vanessa’s show is very much uncertain for the time being.
“Bosses have been locked in crisis talks and have been planning ways to immediately revamp the programme if there is to be a chance that it could be saved.
“Only 62,000 viewers tuned into Monday’s episode and there is feeling that it has been a total disaster behind-the-scenes.
“Jeremy regularly gets 200,000 watching his show but they all seem to reach for the remote and switch off when Vanessa comes on.”
“Everyone is worried and they all feel bitterly disappointed that Vanessa’s show hasn’t taken off as planned.”
A 5 spokesperson responded: “There are no current plans for any changes. As with all live shows, we continue to evolve with our audience.”
The initial commissioning length of the show, or details of 5’s ability to potentially pull the plug early, is not publicly known.
