Alan Carr on The Masked Singer in 2021 / ITV
Comedian and The Celebrity Traitors winner Alan Carr has been announced as a new panellist on the next series of The Masked Singer.
In a shakeup of the show’s format, Carr will be part of a brand new panel known as ‘The Wild Cards’, who will take on the long-standing panellists – Davina McCall, Mo Gilligan, Jonathan Ross and Maya Jama – now known as ‘The Legends’, to guess the celebs hiding behind the masks.
“I can’t wait to play detective – so excited to be shouting ‘take it off’ in the actual studio rather than on my settee at home,” said Carr. “A dream come true.”
ITV entertainment director Katie Rawcliffe added: “We are thrilled to welcome Alan Carr to The Masked Singer. His wit and energy are the perfect addition to our new ‘rival panel’ and we can’t wait for viewers to see the sparks fly.”
The new series of The Masked Singer is due to be filmed last next month and will start on ITV1 and ITVX over the festive period.
