Alan Carr for The Celebrity Traitors S01E05 / BBC
Alan Carr is reportedly being considered for his own chatshow on the BBC following his appearance on The Celebrity Traitors.
The 49-year-old comedian has been one of the standout characters on the reality show, flying under the radar as one of The Traitors thanks to his comic one-liners.
Carr previously hosted his own chatshow for Channel 4, Chatty Man, between 2009 and 2017 but it was dropped due to declining ratings.
According to The Sun, however, BBC execs have been impressed with Carr’s performance on The Celebrity Traitors and are now considering him for his own show which could air in the months of the year when Graham Norton’s show is off the air.
“Alan is a natural raconteur and viewers are getting to see him at his absolute best,” a source told the newspaper.
“Not only is he eminently likeable, he also has an incredible contacts book, so could pull in a few huge names onto his show.
“His agent has been sent a raft of offers and ideas over the past ten days, and the BBC are keen to keep their stand-out Traitors asset.”
Carr is already a familiar face on the BBC as the host of Interior Design Masters, as a judge on RuPaul’s Drag Race UK and co-host of a travelogue makeover show with Amanda Holden.
