Angela Scanlon for The Apprentice: Unfinished Business / BBC
The Apprentice: Unfinished Business host Angela Scanlon is reportedly in the frame to appear in the next series of The Celebrity Traitors.
The spinoff of the devious reality show was a huge hit when it aired on the BBC last year, with at least 15 million viewers thought to have tuned in.
According to The Sun, Scanlon – also a former contestant on Strictly Come Dancing and The Celebrity Apprentice – is being sought by producers about taking part in series two, which is due to be filmed later this Spring.
“Angela’s turn on Strictly, and on Celebrity Apprentice earlier this year, went down a storm,” a source told the newspaper.
“The BBC are big fans of hers and are keen to secure her as one of their key talents. Celebrity Traitors would be the perfect fit for Angela. She’s clever, mischievous and isn’t afraid of causing a stir.
“Negotiations with talent are still ongoing and it’ll go down to the wire. Contracts are often signed in the days leading up to the show starting.”
Other names linked with the new series include Gavin & Stacey‘s Ruth Jones, TV presenter Alison Hammond, comedian David Mitchell, actor Danny Dyer, Oasis singer Liam Gallagher and chef Jamie Oliver.
