Nadia Mercuri has become the fifth baker to leave the tent on this year’s edition of The Great British Bake Off.
Chocolate was the theme this week, beginning with a Signature Bake of chocolate mousse cups, followed by a tricky Technical of white chocolate tarts.
This week’s Showstopper tested the bakers’ chocolate skills to the max as they were required to construct towering chocolate fondue displays.

Aaron Mountford-Myles earned his first Star Baker of the series, but for Nadia – a 41-year-old hairdresser from Liverpool – it was time to go home.
“My daughter said ‘Mum, you are good at baking, you should go on that, and I didn’t think anything of it, I just did it,” she said after the result. “I have had the best time and made some amazing friends, it’s been unreal.”
The Great British Bake Off continues next Tuesday at 8pm on Channel 4 with Pastry Week.
