Rajan Gill has become the latest candidate to be fired on The Apprentice after a fitness gaming-themed task.
This week Lord Sugar challenged the two teams to develop their own virtual reality game in the fitness arena, design a brand and then market the product to investors.
Harry Clough was voted to project manage Team Alpha, despite Karishma Vijay being an avid gamer with VR experience, while Lawrence Rosenberg became PM for Team Eclipse after he revealed that he once did PR for a gamified fitness product.
Alpha opted for a dystopian gaming environment with a “final boss” – an overall gaming concept that the investors approved of, and despite them disliking the logo and the name, all four investors committed with a total of £205,000 for further development.
Eclipse, meanwhile, struggled with an idea after lacklustre direction from Lawrence, who put himself on branding rather than gaming development, and their resulting confused concept – requiring players to hit frog-like creatures – only drew £55k from three investors.

In the boardroom, Lawrence chose to bring back Rajan and Levi Hague, reasoning that he thought that Lord Sugar would want those choices – an argument that did not sit well with his teammates or Sugar.
“I find a bit naughty you bringing Levi back in here based on some of the comments I made about him,” he said. “That’s not the way this process is supposed to work. You’re supposed to bring people who you think did not contribute to this task.”
A testy exchange ensued between Lawrence and Levi – in which Levi accused Lawarence of demoting him from the voiceover due to his “Yorkshire twang” – before Lord Sugar delivered his verdict.
“I have accused you Levi of a few things in this particular boardroom but I’m going to show you how fair I am by saying to you, you are going to be the project manager on the next task.”
He continued: “What I’ve got to say about you, Lawrence, is that you’ve done well up until now in the process. Rajan, I haven’t seen much of you.
“Lawrence, that was a nasty move, I don’t like people that do things like that – and for that reason Lawrence, you’ve given me a big dilemma. But I’m also reflecting back on the last seven weeks… I’ve got a gut feeling here, this may not be fair, but Rajan – you’re fired.”
Next week the remaining 10 candidates will be sent to the Isle of Wight for a second chance at the Product Buying task following their disastrous performances in Hong Kong.
The Apprentice continues Thursdays at 9pm on BBC One and iPlayer.
