Claudia Winkleman for The Traitors series four / BBC
The new series of The Traitors will launch on New Year’s Day, the BBC has announced.
The news comes a day after it emerged that the recent celebrity spinoff has been confirmed as the most-watched show of 2025 on UK TV, with a consolidated audience of around 15 million viewers for the first six episodes.
The fourth iteration of the civilian edition was filmed in Scotland over the Summer and is now confirmed to premiere on BBC One and iPlayer on New Year’s Day at 8pm.
Episode two will follow on Friday, January 2 at 8pm. The scheduling pattern for the remaining ten episodes of the series has yet to be confirmed, but in previous years the show has aired on Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays.
Spinoff show The Traitors: Uncloaked, hosted by Ed Gamble, will return after the first episode on BBC Two but from episode two onwards it will be promoted to BBC One for the remainder of the run.
The contestants in the lineup for the new series are expected to be revealed in the coming weeks.
