Big Brother Suomi 2026 / MTV
The Finnish edition of Big Brother is to return later this year after a four-year absence.
The show – known as Big Brother Suomi – last aired via Nelonen’s Jim channel at the end of 2022 but was conspicuously absent from the schedules the following year.
Now production firm Banijay has announced a new agreement with MTV for BB to return, with daily highlight shows, live evictions and 24/7 live feeds.
“Big Brother‘s popularity around the world is at an all-time high,” said Tatu Ferchen, CEO of Banijay Finland. “The format has returned to its roots and original premise, exploring what happens when strangers get to know one another and live together without any connection to the outside world.
“Big Brother reflects the times we live in, revealing who we are, how we live, and the issues and the conversations that matter most to us right now. That is what makes it feel so relevant today.”
Iina Eloranta, MTV’s director of content and channels, added: “Big Brother is a multi-platform pop culture phenomenon and a unique union of streaming and linear channels, offering an exceptional viewing experience.
“Its global success demonstrates how the format is still relevant and compelling as ever, making this the perfect time for Big Brother Finland to return home to MTV.”
The new series is expected to last around nine weeks and will launch on MTV this Autumn.
