Channel 4 has commissioned new two-part factual format War Room, describing it as “urgent and timely”.
The show will feature senior politicians, military strategists and intelligence chiefs put into a simulation of a serious attack being waged on Britain.
The group will be placed into a COBRA-style secure bunker and challenged to respond to the unfolding events as if they were real.
“It feels like every day brings fresh revelations about the threats facing Britain, both inside and out,” said executive producer Colin Barr.
“Although our War Room will be a simulation, it will be driven by uncomfortable truths and shocking facts, creating edge-of-the-seat drama as we ask is Britain really ready for a modern war?”
Further details about the show, including the participants and expected transmission, will be confirmed in the coming months.
