Handcuffed: Last Pair Standing / Channel 4
Channel 4 has commissioned a second series of Handcuffed: Last Pair Standing, the breakout reality show hosted by Jonathan Ross.
The format pairs two strangers – often with diametrically opposed views – together, challenging them to remain handcuffed together for a few weeks in pursuit of a huge cash prize.
Series one aired earlier this year and was a particular hit on Channel 4 streaming, with episode one drawing over 2 million streams.
“Part of Channel 4’s job is to reflect every corner of Britain, and not just the loudest or most comfortable parts” said C4 commissioning editor Tim Hancock. “Handcuffed does that better than almost anything else on our slate, and its return is a vote of confidence in formats built on genuine difference.”
Executive producer Tom Clarke added: “The first series of Handcuffed got the nation talking, especially in demographics we’re often told have left TV behind. We’re thrilled viewers enjoyed the high-octane thrills and spills of the competition, along with the oodles of heart our pairs delivered as they really got to know each other.”
The six-part series, again hosted by Ross, is due to be filmed in the coming months for broadcast in early 2027. Applications remain open online until this Monday, August 31.
