Claudia Winkleman explains how The Traitors are selected

The Traitors host Claudia Winkleman has revealed that the process for selecting the Traitors involves her working alongside a production committee.

At the start of each series of the treacherous reality show, Winkleman is shown sitting down one-on-one with all of the new contestants and quizzing them about whether they would make a better Faithful or Traitor.

Then, in a blindfolded round table, she secretly taps the shoulders of the chosen Traitors – and in each of the three series so far, she has picked three initial Traitors.

Speaking to the Radio Times, Winkleman outlined the behind-the-scenes process to reach the decision, admitting: “It’s not down to me. There’s a group of us, including the brilliant producers and casting team. We go into a room and don’t leave until they’re chosen.”

She added: “If someone asks not to be a Traitor, they wouldn’t be picked.”
