Craig Charles in I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here! 2014 / ITV
Former Coronation Street star and Red Dwarf legend Craig Charles is reportedly in the lineup for the new series of I’m A Celebrity… South Africa.
The spinoff show sees memorable former contestants for a new shot at ruling the jungle and is currently being pre-recorded for broadcast in Spring 2026.
Charles, 61, previously took part in the 2014 edition of the show but was tragically forced to withdraw after just a few days after learning that his brother had died of a heart attack.
“So many viewers were willing for Craig to win when he appeared on the show the first time and he stood a good chance of being crowned King of the Jungle,” a source told The Sun.
“But he was robbed of the experience by the family tragedy, although his campmates and the production team all understood why he wanted to leave and head home to be with his loved ones.
“So ITV has given him another go, and it’s a move which has never been done on the show before – bringing someone back who had to leave due to such circumstances.”
Other names thought to be in the lineup include Gemma Collins, Harry Redknapp, Adam Thomas, Sir Mo Farah, Sinitta and David Haye.
