Rob Brydon for Destination X / BBC
Destination X has now become the top-rated new unscripted programme of 2025 in the UK, according to data provided by the BBC.
The reality show, hosted by Rob Brydon, sees contestants travelling on a blacked-out bus around Europe trying to guess where they are on a map.
The first episode has now been seen by 6.7 million viewers, including the ratings for the original transmission and the subsequent on-demand viewing.
Michael Jochnowitz, the BBC’s commissioning editor, said: “It’s fantastic to see Destination X become the talk of the summer and now boasting the biggest launch across the entire unscripted market this year.
“We couldn’t be happier for Rob Brydon, our brilliant cast, and the whole production team at Twofour.”
The show is thought to have been recommissioned for a second series by the BBC, although the broadcaster has yet to make an official announcement.
