Rob Brydon for Destination X / BBC
The BBC has reportedly given the go-ahead to a second series of Destination X.
The reality show – hosted by Rob Brydon – sees contestants board a bus with blacked-out windows that travels around Europe, with each having to guess their current location each episode based on a series of clues.
The first series aired last July and attracted a decent audience of around 4 million viewers but as of yet the BBC has not officially announced a second series.
A source told The Sun: “The show developed quite a following, and those devotees will obviously be thrilled it is coming back – despite fears it may not.
“The only downside is that filming won’t start until late Summer, which means that by the time it airs next year, almost two years will have passed between the first and second series.
“But in a TV landscape where lots of shows don’t make it to a second series, fans will be prepared to wait.”
Contestant applications for the new series are already thought to have closed.
