George Knight has quit the new series of Love Island after just a few days in the villa.
The 28-year-old – a footballer from Winchester – joined the show as a bombshell on day two alongside Yasmin Hadlow, and the pair were immediately giving a secret mission to pick two Islanders to kick out.
A day later George and Yasmin picked Samraj Toor and Ellie Chadwick to leave, but in a further twist it emerged that they have not been dumped from the show but instead have been taken to another location.
Now it has been confirmed that George chose to leave the villa himself just hours later, although the exact reasons for his departure are currently unknown.
An ITV spokesperson confirmed: “For private reasons, George has left the Love Island villa.”
A source added to The Sun: “Duty of care for the Islanders is paramount so at this stage any further comment will come from George.
“Bosses and viewers alike had been loving his contribution.”
Love Island continues nightly at 9pm on ITV2 and ITVX.
