Heated Rivalry season one / Crave
The creator of Heated Rivalry has suggested that the second season could premiere in April 2027.
The show – a drama charting the burgeoning sexual and emotional relationship between two male ice hockey players – has become a worldwide phenomenon since its release late last year, making household names of stars Connor Storrie and Hudson Williams.
A second season was swiftly ordered by Canadian broadcaster Crave and US partner HBO, although it will be around 18 months between new episodes arriving.
Explaining why on CBS Mornings, creator Jacob Tierney said: “The reason is we didn’t know we were going to sell this show, we didn’t know if anybody was going to watch it. I had not written a second season, I did not know I was going to get a second season, but it’s all happening.
“We’re writing it now, we’re getting ready to start shooting this Summer. There will be more Heated Rivalry on your TVs, truly, as soon as humanly possible!”
Exec producer Brendan Brady jokingly added: “Like the best parts of this show, just enjoy the yearn.”
Tierney then clarified that filming will begin in August, with host Gayle King then asserting that season two will premiere in April 2027.
