Mandy on Emmerdale on August 13, 2025 / ITV
Lisa Riley has insisted that she wants to remain on Emmerdale for “as long as” producers want her character Mandy Dingle to stay.
The loveable character, who first appeared in the Dales in 1995, returned to the Emmerdale village in 2019 after an 18-year absence and has been a key cast member ever since.
“That is where my heart lies — I love working there,” she told The Sun. “I never ever take anything for granted and, as long as the Emmerdale producers want me, I want to stay.
“I’ve just signed a new one-year contract. If I were to take any extra things on, it would have to be around Emmerdale.”
Riley recently took time off from the soap to take part in last year’s I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here!, during which time she formed a memorable friendship with eventual winner Angry Ginge.
“I’ve had some very flattering TV offers,” she added. “They have been TV projects, like doing impressions like I did in Australia.
“Hopefully, Ginge and I are going to do stuff together again, so long as it’s around my Emmerdale commitments.”
Riley is back on screen as Mandy in this week’s episodes of Emmerdale, which stream weekdays from 7am on ITVX and air at 8pm on ITV1.
