ITV has commissioned a new three-part documentary series that will see Freddie Flintoff travel to Nepal to explore life-changing facial surgeries.
The cricketing legend, 48, suffered a devastating crash while filming Top Gear in late 2022 that left him with severe facial injuries that required extensive surgery.
In Freddie Flintoff’s Mission: Nepal, Flintoff will head with his surgeon, Jahrad Haq, to witness how specialist surgery can be carried out in countries where healthcare access is limited.
“After my crash I had access to the best people,” he said. “Not everyone gets that. If there’s a way to shine a light on it, to use what profile I’ve got for that, then that’s what I’ll do…”
Joe Mace, ITV’s commissioning editor for entertainment, added: “We are excited to follow Freddie and the team on this journey, one that will combine intimate personal storytelling with extraordinary medical access.”
The series is expected to air on ITV later this year.
