Red Panda for The Masked Singer 2026 / ITV
ITV took the last-minute decision to drop a performance from Saturday night’s first episode of The Masked Singer following the tragic fire disaster in Switzerland.
Forty people – many of them youngsters – died when a fire ripped through a venue in Crans-Montana on New Year’s Eve, with an additional 119 people suffering injuries.
The Masked Singer‘s premiere episode was subsequently cut by 10 minutes as the performance by ‘Red Panda’ – the disco classic ‘Disco Inferno’ – was removed from the broadcast.
An ITV spokesperson confirmed: “In light of the tragic events in Switzerland, we took the decision to remove Red Panda’s performance on The Masked Singer owing to potential insensitivities within the theme and lyrics of the song.
“Viewers will get to see Red Panda perform in the coming weeks.”
The Masked Singer continues Saturday at 7pm on ITV1 and ITVX.
