Britain's Got Talent series 19 / ITV
ITV has reportedly renewed Britain’s Got Talent through to its 21st series in 2028.
The show – a staple of the broadcaster’s schedules since 2007 – remains a huge hit on social media, with the current series racking up 317 million views in just four weeks to date.
The new deal for another two more series, which The Sun claims is worth a staggering £120 million, also includes a new edition of Champions featuring global acts taking place in 2027.
A source told the newspaper: “This is a huge vote of confidence in the show, which celebrated the best week of overnight ratings for this series at the weekend.
“It also proved TV execs are looking beyond traditional viewing figures when making strategic decisions.
“Shows like Strictly have seen live viewing figures decline in recent years. They haven’t seen that compensated by viewers switching to other ways of watching, whereas BGT’s figures for streaming and on platforms such as YouTube have gone through the roof.”
Hosts Ant and Dec, as well as judges Simon Cowell, KSI, Alesha Dixon and Amanda Holden, are all expected to return next year.
