Jamie Vardy’s reality show in limbo at ITV

ITV has reportedly yet to give the go-ahead to a second series of The Vardys, the fly-on-the-wall reality show following footballer Jamie Vardy, his wife Rebekah and their kids.

The first three-episode series was released earlier this year and charted the 39-year-old’s move to Serie A side Cremonense for the 2025-26 season – and the ensuing family upheaval – but ended with the brood returning to the UK in order for him to find a new club.

A source told The Sun that Jamie’s ongoing uncertainty over where he will play in 2026-27 has left the show in limbo, explaining: “From the family’s perspective, there are no plans at this exact time for The Vardys to return for a second series – but that’s only because a lot is up in the air for the family.

“For starters, the family don’t know what their plans are as yet – as it’s not been decided where Jamie is going to be playing.

“Certainly, a second series couldn’t have been about a continued Italian adventure – which was at the heart of series one – because Jamie left Cremonese at the end of last season.

“Even so, nobody’s ruling out a second series – but a lot of it depends on where the family will be and what they will be doing. At the moment, that is still up in the air.”

Despite underwhelming linear ratings on ITV1, the show has emerged as an ongoing success on streaming source ITVX.

An ITV source told the newspaper: “The Vardys continues to be a success on ITVX, regularly featuring in the top five.

“The series was always commissioned as a three-part [show] to follow a particular chapter in the family’s lives. We have been in discussions with the family about future episodes.”

With several days of the transfer window remaining, bookies have tipped Vardy to sign a deal with Sheffield Wednesday in third-tier League One – or a surprise move to recently-relegated West Ham United in the Championship.
