Namibia for Love Island S13 / ITV
Love Island bombshell Namibia Olpherts has exited the villa following the show’s latest shock recoupling, which left both her and OG Sam Workman as singletons.
Shortly after her departure, Namibia sat down with the press to reflect on her time on Love Island 2026…
How does it feel to be leaving Love Island?
“It’s mixed emotions. You want to be in there as long as you can to have time to find a real connection. A chunk of my time was in a friendship couple and then I got in a couple with someone I actually liked and we were only coupled up for three or four days. It’s not the best but it’s an experience I’ve been able to do and the reception I got when I left from the girls and boys was really nice – they said I made the Villa.”
How would you describe the experience?
“I don’t think I even have words to describe it. It’s not something a lot of people get to do. It was short but sweet. I had the best time – that group was perfect for me.”
We also saw you getting to know Sam but did you quickly realise it was purely friendship?
“It’s a weird one for me because I have a type but also don’t have a type. I do go on personality. Looks wise – he’s not what I’d go for but if he had the personality of Aidan, then it probably could’ve gone further. I’m bubbly and I need someone to bounce off. Quite quickly, it became a friendship.”
We then saw you share a kiss with Tommy. Did you feel like there could be something there?
“It’s a weird one with Tommy because based on things I heard and conversations I had with him, he would insinuate that something was missing with Ellie, so it was a bit confusing. On my last day I had a conversation with him where he finally said something, so I don’t know if that was him trying to hint. I don’t want to say he’d rather be with me but obviously how else can you take that? He was still interested in getting to know me. We’re not far from each other and I think when you’re from up north, you have that banter.”
And then more recently you’ve been coupled up with Aidan – how has that been going?
“It’s shit because the last conversation we had wasn’t a good conversation. Leaving stuff on bad terms isn’t nice. I hope it works out for him and Tina if she’s what he is into.”
Are there any couples who you think will go the distance?
“Lola and Fitzy [Sean]. I think Jas and Kav will as well – they’re quite a strong couple and she really likes him and he really likes her. I hope Angelista and Simba. I think they will.”
Love Island continues nightly at 9pm on ITV2 and ITVX.
