Marcus Wareing, Matt Tebbutt and Monica Galetti for MasterChef: The Professionals S18 / BBC
Matt Tebbutt has confirmed reports that he will not be returning as host of MasterChef: The Professionals for its next series.
The Saturday Kitchen host took over from Gregg Wallace for the current series in a presenting role alongside regular chefs Monica Galetti and Marcus Wareing.
The Sun had claimed that producers have decided to make do without a separate host going forward, with Galetti and Wareing instead at the helm – although Tebbutt will remain associated with the franchise and will return in future as a guest judge.
Confirming the news on Instagram, Tebbutt wrote: “A lot of lovely people have contacted me about not doing the next series of MasterChef: The Professionals.
“I was only ever doing one series and I loved judging on it and will continue working with MasterChef.”
The current series continues this week with Knockout Week on BBC One and iPlayer.
