The BBC has announced a new spinoff show for Strictly Come Dancing, Strictly: Lights Up, which will be released exclusively on iPlayer.
The show will be hosted by comedian Abi Clarke and former contestant Tyler West and will go out on iPlayer chiefly on Sunday nights, directly after the latest elimination has aired.
Lights Out will seek to get immediate reaction from the couple voted off, as well as their dance-off opponents, the judges, hosts and other celebrities.
Via a dedicated Strictly hub on iPlayer, viewers will also get access to extra episodes featuring footage of the week’s training sessions, a new weekly highlights programme and the ability to stream individual dances.
Strictly executive producer Sarah James said: “With Strictly‘s iPlayer audience growing year-on-year, this is the perfect time to announce a range of new exclusives that will bring viewers closer to Strictly than ever before.
“Hosted by the brilliant Abi and Tyler, Lights Up will be a post-results show like no other – taking you straight on to the Strictly dancefloor for all of the immediate reaction that previously remained unseen.
“Across the main shows, BBC iPlayer and Strictly socials, there’s never been so much for Strictly fans to enjoy.”
The first of this year’s live shows will air this Saturday, September 26, while the first Lights Out will be released after the first vote-off airs on Sunday, October 4.
