Nigella Lawson promoting Greggs in 2024
Nigella Lawson is reportedly in advanced talks about replacing Dame Prue Leith on The Great British Bake Off.
Earlier this week, Leith – due to turn 86 next month – announced that she is stepping down as a judge after nine years on the show.
According to The Sun, iconic cook Lawson, 66, who is known for her plethora of camp cookery shows for the BBC, is now in pole position to take over and join Paul Hollywood in the famous tent.
“Nigella’s recognised worldwide,” a source said. “She’s got the cheeky banter down to a tee, with all her work laden with the fun innuendos and naughty patter that are synonymous with Bake Off.
“Contract discussions are in the final stages and, all being well, Nigella will be heating up the famous tent soon.”
Filming on the new series is due to get underway in April.
