Patrick Kielty for The Late Late Show / RTÉ
Patrick Kielty has reportedly signed a new deal with RTÉ to return as host of The Late Late Show this September.
The presenter, 55, took over from Ryan Tubridy in 2023 on a three-year deal, which expired at the end of the most recent series.
According to the Daily Mail, RTÉ and Kielty have now thrashed out a new agreement that will keep him in the hotseat and see him earn a pay rise.
“Patrick Kielty is coming back to The Late Late,” an insider told the newspaper.
“Runners on the show have been preparing for his return, so I’m hearing it’s full steam ahead on another Kielty Late Late.”
A RTÉ spokesperson said: “As The Late Late Show reached the end of another successful season, it has an average of 385,000 viewers per episode – 38.2 per cent share with 1.46 million streams on RTÉ Player to date.
“We look forward to the programme returning for its 65th year in the Autumn.”
The Late Late Show is the world’s second longest-running talkshow, behind only NBC’s The Tonight Show.
