Sky has announced a new relationship show, The 100 Day Split, which will see couples who have been together since childhood forced to split up for a period.
The challenge will see the six couples become 12 singletons for 100 days, during which time they must reconnect with themselves as individuals – revisiting old hobbies, rethinking their career paths and even going on dating apps.
Experts will be on hand to guide the participants through the process, and at the end of the 100 days the couples will be reunited and faced with the question of whether they want to remain coupled up or would be better off apart.
Shirley Jones, Sky’s commissioning editor, said: “The routines and habits that develop in long-term relationships will feel very familiar to many people, so it’s fascinating to explore what might happen when those patterns are suddenly disrupted.
“Every time we’ve discussed the show, the question ‘what would you do?’ has sparked lively debate, and everyone seems to approach it differently – which makes it all the more intriguing to see how things unfold.”
Filming on the 12-part series begins this Summer ahead of a transmission on Sky in early 2027.
