The much-anticipated celebrity edition of The Traitors will air this October, it has been revealed.
The spinoff version of the hugely-popular reality show was filmed in Scotland in April, with Claudia Winkleman serving as host.
Previously earmarked as airing on BBC One in the Autumn, the broadcaster’s interim director of unscripted Syeda Irtizaali has now confirmed an October launch date.
“I was worried about how they were going to play it compared to members of the public, but we had nothing to worry about,” she said at the Edinburgh TV Festival. “Some of the things you’ll see them doing are extraordinary.”
She continued: “Some of the celebrities said at the end that they were quite changed by it.”
Meanwhile Kate Phillips, the BBC’s head of content, said that she too had now watched the series, adding: “I thought ‘I can’t believe what I’m seeing them doing.'”
The celebrity lineup for the series was revealed earlier this year and includes comedian Alan Carr, national treasure Sir Stephen Fry, Olympic diver Tom Daley, talkshow host Jonathan Ross and actress Celia Imrie.
