ITV is reportedly developing an ambitious new spinoff of The Chase that will see contestants travel around the globe answering quiz questions and participating in challenges.
The new format is supposedly called The Chase Around The World and will feature pairs of contestants travelling from country to country taking on puzzles, tricky questions and teamwork tasks in a bid to be the first to cross the finish line and claim a cash prize.
According to The Sun, “fans can expect even higher stakes, fresh twists, and some familiar faces battling it out on a global stage”.
Production is expected to begin early next year, and at this stage it is unclear whether UK host Bradley Walsh or any of the established Chasers will be part of the new show.
The Chase has consistently delivered high ratings for ITV for the last 16 years, airing over 2,500 episodes and spawning spinoffs including The Celebrity Chase and Beat The Chasers.
Local versions of the format have aired in 20 other countries worldwide, including the US, Australia, Germany and Spain.
