Toby Littlewood for The Great British Bake Off 2025 / Channel 4
Age: 29
From: Warwickshire
Occupation: Business Development Executive
How did you react to the news that you would be on the show?
“I honestly never thought I would actually make it through to the show. I just somehow kept getting the call to tell me I was through to the next stage of interviews. I’m still convinced there was a mistake in the casting process! When I finally got the call to tell me I was going to be a baker, I was in absolute disbelief. I was in the kitchen, staring at my girlfriend trying to hold it together but I couldn’t stop laughing. It was so surreal.”
What are your strengths and weaknesses as a baker?
“I think my strengths as a baker lie in recreating classic bakes and flavours. I love comforting foods that remind me of my childhood gluttony. Think carrot cake, cinnamon buns and mountains of homemade sourdough loaves. My weakness is without doubt decorating with finesse. I’ve tried many times and failed almost every single one of them. It’s a work in progress.”
Was it surreal meeting Noel and Alison for the first time?
“Meeting Alison and Noel for the first time was so surreal! We hadn’t spoken to them yet but a few of us bumped into them on the lawn. They were honestly just so friendly and we had a hug and introduced ourselves. I do remember I felt an overwhelming need to be interesting… whether I was successful or not, I’m not sure I want to know.”
How did you feel about your first judging from Paul and Prue?
“I was absolutely terrified at the first judging. I was up first so had absolutely no idea how it was going to go or how it would make me feel. The time spent waiting to be judged felt like an eternity and I was so glad to get it out of the way!”
The Great British Bake Off begins Tuesday night at 8pm on Channel 4.
