How did you react when you found out you would be taking part in this year’s show?
“If I’m being honest, I was very delusional and always thought I’d get in somehow and I would be on the Bake Off. Surprisingly, I applied for the first time, and I was selected.
“When I got the call and was told I was selected, I was barely awake and still in bed sleeping. My reply was like ‘wow okay that’s nice’ and after I went back to sleep.”
Were you apprehensive ahead of your first judging from Paul and Nigella?
“When I got my stout cake judged Paul and Nigella disagreed with the texture and flavour and I thought Paul was being picky. I loved Nigella’s feedback though.”
How was it having Nigella as part of the show?
“I was very excited to meet Nigella as I’d remember my mom loved watching her growing up and having her TV shows on in the background while playing. It was interesting to see her find her place working with Paul and I loved the different perspectives and preferences they had as they didn’t always agree.”
Describe your baking style in three words!
“Aesthetic, creative, amazing.”
