Angryginge for Soccer Aid
Social media star Angryginge is reportedly in the lineup for this year’s I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here!
The 23-year-old, real name Morgan Burtwistle, gained a profile in 2020 when he began livestreaming FIFA gameplay and now has a combined follower count of around 5.7 million across social media.
In recent years I’m A Celebrity has typically included a young influencer among the cast, and according to The Sun, producers have settled on football-mad Angryginge as this year’s candidate.
“ITV bosses always like to have a social media superstar on their cast, especially after GK Barry proved such a success last year,” a source said.
“Angry Ginge has bags of personality and was really friendly to everyone at Soccer Aid this year. He made a great impression.”
According to The Mirror, however, ITV’s decision to pick Angryginge has angered some within the influencer community.
“The mood behind the scenes is not good. Some of these influencers have been in proper talks with ITV for years,” an insider told the newspaper.
“They were already furious when GK Barry got the call-up last year, and now they’re watching another online star – who’s barely been around five minutes compared to them – bag the jungle spot. They feel stitched up.”
Among those also said to be in the frame for the show – due to begin on ITV in November – are Emmerdale legend Lisa Riley, radio legend Nick Ferrari and former EastEnders star Shona McGarty.
