Pink is reportedly in talks about performing at a brand new World Cup Closing Ceremony event next month.
FIFA’s top competition is currently underway across the US, Canada and Mexico and began with three Opening Ceremonies as each of the host countries played their first games.
A massive new half-time show is being introduced during the final in New Jersey on July 19 designed to emulate the iconic half-time show of the Super Bowl, with Madonna, BTS and Shakira all due to to perform.
Now, according to The Sun, FIFA is also developing plans to stage a separate Closing Ceremony at the MetLife Stadium with Pink as the headline act.
“Bosses want to make sure the World Cup ends in typical American over-the-top style,” a source told the newspaper. “Plans are in the works for a Closing Ceremony which will take place in New York.
“Exact details are still being worked out but Pink has been asked to perform. She is set to fly around the stadium on suspended cables like she did at her 2023 Hyde Park show in London.
“The performance is totally separate from the already announced half-time show.”
France remain the 6/1 favourites to win this year’s tournament, with England and Spain close behind on odds of 13/2.
