Paul Hollywood, Alison Hammond, Nigella Lawson and Noel Fielding for The Great British Bake Off 2026 / Love Productions / Channel 4
Channel 4 has dropped The Great British Bake Off‘s companion show An Extra Slice and replaced it with a new spinoff for 2026.
Jo Brand had hosted the show since it launched in 2014, latterly joined by Tom Allen, but both presenters have now been dropped.
The Great British Bake Off: Second Helpings will follow a similar format, with new comic hosts Jon Richardson and Judi Love joined by a celebrity guest as well as appearances from hosts Alison Hammond and Noel Fielding and judges Paul Hollywood and Nigella Lawson.
“I’ve been lucky enough to be in the tent a few times and work alongside Jon, both were pure joy!” said Love, who alongside Richardson has previously taken part in the celebrity version.
“Joining the show to talk all things baking and celebrate showstopping bakes, including some unique spins sounds like absolute blast. I can’t wait to get started and of course eat a few cakes or whatever treats they may have.”
Richardson added: “Bake Off is an institution. Jo Brand is a comedy God. Together with Tom Allen, they have made a spin off show that is warm, witty and unique. I pity the poor sap they lure into stepping into those shoes.”
In a further shakeup, the spinoff will air on the same night – Tuesday – as the main Bake Off episode as opposed to Fridays.
The new series launches on Channel 4 later this month.
