James Sutton ‘films Hollyoaks exit scenes’

James Sutton has reportedly filmed his final scenes as John Paul McQueen on Hollyoaks.

Late last year it emerged that the 42-year-old had decided to leave his role in 2026, almost 20 years after his debut, in order to focus on his new self-improvement business.

Now The Sun says that Sutton has wrapped filming on the Channel 4 soap in scenes which will play out on screen later this Spring.

“James is a much-loved member of the cast so it was an incredibly emotional day,” a source told the newspaper.

“He’s been a huge part of the show for the last 20 years and everyone is sad to see him go. But these things happen and it’s going to be an explosive exit.”

Details of John Paul’s exit storyline from the village are currently unknown, although it is thought that the door will be left open for a future return.
