Alex Armstrong for GB News
GB News has announced changes to the presenting lineups for some of its key shows ahead of the channel’s US expansion next month.
The broadcaster will air a two-hour daily show live from Washington DC in the midnight to 2am slot under the move, with presenters Bev Turner and Ben Leo both relocating to the US to front the programme.
Turner’s spot co-hosting Britain’s Newsroom alongside Andrew Pierce will be taken up by Miriam Cates from Mondays to Thursdays starting on September 1, while Alex Armstrong will co-anchor the Friday edition.
Armstrong will also take over from Ben Leo on Saturday and Sunday nights with his own show, Alex Armstrong Tonight, from August 30, in addition to his duties hosting The Saturday Five.
Meanwhile, Emily Carver has now departed on maternity leave and will be replaced by Nana Akua as co-host to Tom Harwood on Good Afternoon Britain from Monday to Wednesday, with Dawn Neesom taking Thursdays and Fridays.
“These updates reflect the exceptional depth of talent at GB News,” said Ben Briscoe, the channel’s head of programming.
“I’m delighted to see Miriam, Dawn, Nana and Alex take on these new roles, and we’re all wishing Emily the very best as she begins her maternity leave.
“Bev and Ben’s exciting move to Washington DC means our schedule will look different after the summer. But this brilliant new line-up will help ensure GB News remains Britain’s Number One news channel.”
The news comes after GB News took the lead in the average monthly audience share for the first time, recording 1.16% in July 2025 – ahead of BBC News’ 1.13% and Sky News’ 0.98%.
