Sky News has confirmed that Sir Trevor Phillips will be replaced as host of its Sunday morning politics show by a revolving lineup of guest presenters.
Phillips, 73, fronted the flagship show for three years but left earlier this Summer in order to take up a new role working for US network CBS.
Sunday Morning With… returned yesterday (September 6) with Jon Sopel in the hotseat, and in the coming weeks the presenters have been confirmed as Rachel Johnson (September 13), Kamal Ahmed (September 20), Kate McCann (September 27) and Helen Lewis (October 4).
“We’ll present the widest range of voices in the political market, in conversation every Sunday morning,” said David Rhodes, executive chairman of Sky News.
“That’s the beauty of this format – the broadest range of views, all while maintaining the highest standards of trusted journalism that audiences expect from Sky News.”
The 90-minute show airs Sunday mornings at 8.30am, earlier than rival political programmes on the BBC and GB News.
