Sally Carman-Duttine has signed a new one-year deal to remain on Coronation Street as Abi Webster.
The actress has now been on the soap for almost nine years as former drug addict Abi, who is married to cobbles legend Kevin Webster (Michael Le Vell).
Last year their relationship ended, however, when Abi embarked on an affair with Kevin’s brother – since revealed to actually be his nephew – Carl Webster (Jonathan Howard).
“I just signed for another year, which is great. My goodness, I love it. It’s my favourite job I’ve ever done,” Carman-Duttine told Radio Times.
Speaking about the affair storyline, which saw Corrie fans turn against Abi, she added: “The problem with Abi is she gets people on side, then she does something and everyone’s like, ‘Argh!’
“But I love playing her and I love the stuff that’s like, ‘Why are you doing that?!’ I’m like, ‘Come on!’ She’s eternally flawed, I love it. I love when she just messes up all the time.”
Coronation Street is released weekdays from 7am on ITVX and also airs at 8.30pm on ITV1.
