George and Glenda on Coronation Street on November 3, 2025 / ITV
On-screen siblings Tony Maudsley and Jodie Prenger have signed new deals keeping them on Coronation Street for at least another year.
The pair play the children of legacy character Archie Shuttleworth (the late Roy Hudd), with Maudsley joining as George in late 2020 and Prenger following as George’s sister Glenda two years later.
Posting a photo of him holding champagne on Instagram, Maudsley wrote: “New contract? Cheers Corrie, don’t mind if I do. (I bit their hand off!) Can’t wait to see what’s around the corner for George (aside from more corpses).”
Prenger, meanwhile, told the Daily Star: “I’ve just signed a new contract, so I’m going to be on Corrie for another year. I always get nervous about whether or not they’ll want me to stay, so I was thrilled when I got the offer.
“I knew straightaway I was going to sign. I love being on the show so I’m thrilled to be staying for another year.”
She added: “The thing with Coronation Street is the show is part of people’s families. It has gone back generations. My nan was a massive fan. To carry that legacy on is something quite exceptional. Corrie will always have that joy.”
Coronation Street is released weekdays at 7am on ITVX and also airs at 8.30pm on ITV1.
