Former Waterloo Road star Jason Done has reportedly joined the cast of Emmerdale playing a new villain.
The actor played English teacher Tom Clarkson on the school-based drama for eight series and also counts Where The Heart Is and Silent Witness among his credits.
Although exact details of his role are currently unknown, The Sun says that he has already started filming, suggesting that he could appear on screen for the first time later this Summer.
“This is a huge coup for Emmerdale,” a source told the newspaper.
“They’ve had massive success with other soap’s stars joining the cast and the hope is that Jason will be another hit.
“Jason’s character is a new villain with a surprising connection to the village.”
New episodes of Emmerdale are typically released weekdays at 7am on ITVX and air the same night at 8pm on ITV1, although current schedules are being disrupted by the World Cup.
